Car and Driver put together a pretty decent guide to driving in the snow. Most winter type Jalops know this stuff, but you can pass it along to family or friends with less Opposite lock in their blood to help them out.

Im not sure I've seen it. and, truth be told, if this is for the non-jalop...the more credible the source the better...no offense to crown victor Victoria

Good point on the gas separation. I should really put some stabilizer in my land cruiser since I don't drive her in the winter.

This is useless, everyone knows how to drive in bad conditions already; Mash the pedals (sometime slamming both pedals down as hard as possible at the same time will force the snow or ice to become intimidated and clear a path just for you). Make sharp, jerky motions with the wheel, remember, the quicker and further you move the wheel, the more likely you are to turn). Follow the car in front of you closely, like so close they can't even see you in their rear view, doing so allows for their tires to clear the path way of snow and ice for your tires. And finally, remove all unnecessary weight from the car, more weight only slows you down and makes you more likely to get stuck in the snow. leave the gas light on, and if you're traveling alone, remove the seats too. The lighter the better.

Great advice- except about warming the car up. I let it sit one or two minutes after starting and take it easy on her until her fluids are warmed up.
What about you guys?

me to, but more for my comfort. Depends on the ambient temps though, I keep mine garaged so even on really cold days its rarely freezing in my garage, so warm up isn't as big a deal. I use the drip method for warmups. If i don't see oil drips forming, its too cold.
